  • I am currently a Lecturer at the ECE department of the College of Design and Engineering (CDE), National University of Singapore (NUS). My current courses cover Computer Vision and Machine (Deep) Learning.

  • I obtained my Ph. D. Degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, under the supervision of Prof. Mao Kezhi in 2021. My research focuses on video analytics and time-series analytics, with a special interest in applying transfer learning towards human action recognition as well as AIOT tasks. Previously, I obtained my Bachelor's Degree from NTU Singapore.

  • I was a Research Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR) Singapore, from July 2021 to January 2024.

  • I was also a Part-Time Lecturer at the School of EEE, NTU Singapore from July 2021 to January 2024. My courses covered Computer Vision and Machine Learning.

Research Interests

My current research mainly focuses on Perception and its Application in Robotics, with a special interest in Vision-based and RF-based perception, where state-of-the-art AI models are proposed to analyze human actions and surroundings for robotic applications including but not limited to human-robot interaction, autonomous control and navigation, and security.

More specifically, I focus my study on how AI models are efficiently deployed in resource-restrained and environment-varying conditions (including adverse environment conditions) by applying the various learning techniques, such as transfer learning, continual learning, and few-shot learning. To achieve the above goals, I and my team are currently focusing on the following topics:
 

  • Human Action Recognition via On-board Non-Visual Perception.

  • Robust Policy Learning via Digital Cousin Creation and Sim2Real Transfer.

​

  • Robust Video Analysis Across Differed Environments with Less Labeled Data.

​

  • Robust 3D Semantic Segmentation Across Continuously Changing Scenes via Online (Test-time) Adaptation.

​

  • 3D Reconstructing of Extremely Adverse Environments.
